Donating Items
If you would like to donate items to us they can be dropped off to our donation area at our main gate on any day between 10am and 1pm. We also have donation areas at Asda Swanley and Pets At Home Orpington.
We can always make use of extra towels and blankets and have an area for donations to be dropped off at our main gate as well as a donation trolley in Asda Swanley or Pets At Home Orpington.
Unfortunately we can't use duvets and pillows.
They always say one man’s trash is another man’s treasure and we can usually always find a use for good quality second hand items. We have a donation area at our entrance and also a donation trolley in Asda, Swanley. These are just a few of the things that we use regularly but if you can’t see your item on the list please contact us as we may still be able to make use of it.
- Newspaper
- Building materials eg fencing, screws, wood etc
- Sheds
- Animal toys, bedding or food
- Cat litter
Unfortunately dogs are one of the few animals that we can’t rescue here at SCAR as we do not have kennels but there are a few other rescues locally that focus on dogs who may be able to help.
We are run entirely with volunteers and usually are able to offer places for work experience. Please complete our work experience form and we’ll be in touch. Please note that our volunteers all have to be 16 and over (although we can accept volunteers between 14-16 years old if they’re accompanied by an adult when they volunteer).
At the moment most work experience is on hold due to Covid-19 so please check with your college before getting in touch.
We are run entirely using volunteers so have no paid vacancies but if you are interested in volunteering please complete our application form and we’ll be in touch.
We are often able to arrange visits and events so please fill in our events request form and we’ll have a look at our availability. Our events are all run by our experienced volunteers, so please be aware that we may not always be able to do a date and booking with plenty of notice is advised as we get lots of requests!
