About Nala
Hello everyone, I’m Nala. I’m a Tanuki, though you may know us better as Raccoon Dogs. We come from East Asia and are known for our thick, luxurious fur, adorable faces and curious, playful nature. Despite our name, we’re not actually raccoons or dogs, we’re a unique species of our own and we love exploring, foraging and finding the perfect cosy hiding spots.
I live here at Second Chance Animal Rescue with my brother Fred. We were lucky enough to be rescued from an exotic breeder who could no longer keep us. Now, we have a beautiful home full of shrubs, bushes and comfy shelters to snuggle up together. I’m a little shy at first but, once I get to know you, my gentle, affectionate side shines through. I love greeting the volunteers with my soft little eyes and happy wiggles, and I’m always curious about what’s going on around the rescue.
I spend my days exploring my enclosure, hiding in the bushes and enjoying treats. Everyone says I’m an absolute sweetheart, very loveable and so beautiful, especially with my fluffy coat and bright eyes.
